My Fine Feathered Friend..... Just Adopted!!! About Me I am a two year old cinammon pied cockatiel. I love to sing and can even say "pretty bird" in peoplespeak! Even though I am young, and so terribly charming, I ended up in a bird rescue! Lucky for me this nice lady was looking for a forever bird at the exact same time I was looking for a forever home! I am so excited to make a fresh start in life. My new mom is in graduate school studying animal nutrition (which means I'll probablly have to eat healthy..groan). She has been in college for 8 years...geez lady, get a job already! She rides horses everyday as part of her graduate work and loves all animals but for right now I get to be her only inside pet (which automatically makes me lord master over any and all future pets)! She also has a little boy who I hope I get along with (they promise he is extra gentle with animals). 
Here is a picture of my new mom and one of her horses, she says we're going to be brothers but I don't really see much of a family resemblence? 3/16/07 My new mom did her home visit today and passed with flying colors. I heard that I have a brand new big cage and lots of toys. Even better my new mom promised to let me out of my cage whenever she is home...of course I may want to get settled in first! The nice people at the rescue called me "kozmo" but I think I need a brand new name for my brand new home, my new mom likes "Marley", "Kismet", and "Tiki Bird"...what do you think? I think I'll let her know what my name should be as we get to know one another. Right now I am just so excited because I get to go to my forever home tommorow!! I'll be sure to post pictures of my new digs as soon as possible and let all of you fluffy fellows out there know how I'm getting along...wish me luck! 3/17/07 Home at Last!!! My new mom came to pick me up today...and I hopped right up on her finger! I was just begining to fall in love when she put me back in my cage and -gasp-picked up another bird! Well, I plum ignored her for a good five minutes after that...you know you have to start enforcing rules early in a relationship..and the fact that I am to be the only bird she loves on is my number one rule. We had a fun car ride home (apparently mom thinks that the speed limit is mearly a polite suggestion). I just love my new room..my cage has lots of fun toys and best of all its right next to my moms bed so I can watch her all day long! Mom had some notion about me needing "time to settle in"..pshaw! I wanted out of the cage asap and told her so! We played and cuddled all evening. Now, I normally do not let people pet me..but I tell you what, this lady has the magic touch, she can scritch me whenever she wants to! I also got to eat some spray millet..my mom says I would put competitive eaters to shame! Here are some pictures from my first day home    Here are some pics from my life......
