Secret message!

Oatmealgoodpic.jpg

Hello, Oatmeal here! Don't I look so cute? Anyway, this is MY homepage, not Oatmeal_Flock_Member's! This place is goingto be about ME because I have claimed it! So there.

First off, I'll tell you about my adoption day. I can't remember exactly what day it was, but it was sometime in summer of 2006. When my new flock saw me, I have to admit I was pretty scared. I hadn't been taken out of my cage in a while, and on top of that, there were three new people with me! I tried to escape, but with a clipped wing, I didn't get far... Since I was so adorable, my flock members bought me then and there, along with food, a QP book guide, a cage, and lots of toys! I even got a millet, yum! The first few days back, I was so nervous! I grew to be trusting and my curiosity took over! It turned out that I had not three, but four flock members! (I don't like the fourth, though) And so, little by little, I got used to my new home!

I didn't want to tell you this, but Oatmeal_Flock_Member made me. She thinks that it's funny! Anyway, during the first week in my new home, I walked into the glass door. All birds do that! While I was wondering what the invisible force field was, the neighbor's cat looked into the back door. I jumped really high into the air then sprinted back toward my cage! That stupid cat is always sneaking over the fence into Oatmeal_Flock_Member's lawn! It's scary.

After I was settled into my new home, we were able to contact my breeder! My flock learned that I once had another flock member, but she had to give me up when she developed breast cancer. I was a year old when I came to my new flock, so I don't remember my old flock too well. Still I wish I knew how she is doing.

On a lighter note, I'm spoiled! I won't try to keep that secret from you. It's the truth! I'm healthy and happy in my new home, and I get to boss my flock around! Quake like a baby Quaker for food, make gurgling noises for water, threaten to bite to say "no", or "go away", and say "step up" repeatedly in a cute voice until someone picks me up. Yup, that's the life of a Quaker!

I don't really know many tricks, but I can talk and know a few games! Games first! I can play 'The Kissing Game' where I kiss the side of a flock member's face three times, then the other side three times, and it goes on like that until someone gets bored. Another game I know is 'Step Up Practice'. For that game, I step onto a flock member's fingers like going up a down escalater, all the while that flock member says step up, or waits and lets me say it. The third game I know is 'Peek-a-boo'. For that game, I stretch out my head to one side, then quickly pull it back in and say "peek a boo". Why should you hide to play peek-a-boo? My way is better! This third game isn't really a game, it's more like a trick. First, Oatmeal_Flock_Member cupps her hands to make a kind of tunnel. Then she looks into the hand tunnel, and I stick my head in until she kisses me, when I come back out.

As for talking, I can say "step up", "that's a good bird", "Oatmeal" "peek-a-boo", and lots of different sounds.

That's all for now! I'll try to get more pictures! I'll be updating as when I can, so check back every now and then! Bye!
