Sigmund as a work in progress!

sigmund2.jpg

Sigmund is becoming a star!  Not camera shy at all!  Soon, we will see a bright pink come across his chest, and the last little bits of dark color on his beak will give way to a stunning, orange proboscus that is like no other!

Welcome, Sigmund!

Welcome, Sheila!

Poor little Budgie - all he wanted was to snuggle up to CJ.  Probably not a good idea, so we bought him a girlfriend.   Sheila is in back keeping a constant eye on her guy!

They are inseperable!

Welcome, Budge!

He's living in CJ's travel cage right now!  Plenty of space for this little guy!

This is CJ - if you've been here before, then you've already met.

But I've moved things around a bit, so I thought I'd introduce him again!  Scroll down for more pictures!

CJ'S FIRST BATH.  HE COULDN'T GET TO IT FAST ENOUGH!

BATH.JPG

After the first time or two, somebody has not been totally thrilled with the idea of a bath, and since he was starting to look a bit bedraggled,

we decided a heavy misting was in order.

That really got him going!  He's out on the back porch on the hanging perch we made for him.

He even had someone stop by to watch the process!  No, I don't let the squirrels on the porch!

But I do feed them outside, as well as the neighborhood birds.  Gives CJ some company I think!

Well, he's done cleaning up from the horrible misting experience for the moment -

has a little more work to do yet, but just wore himself out!  Time to take a break!!!

I really had to do some heavy editing to make this picture even viewable - and I will try in the future to get a better one, since he apparently likes to nap under his beloved bell.  Only CJ would have a large enough ego to double check to be sure I was watching!  What a complete clown he  is.

It seems that someone has decided

that a shower does a bit more thorough of a job than a  bath -

He certainly is good and soaked! - and very proud of himself, I might add!

Ok - here I go again with Paint Shop, but I do enjoy it!  I just happened to stumble across this effect!

I couldn't resist a "partner" to the above:

All right, CJ - I think you're taking this preening thing just a little too far!

This picture DEFINITELY needs a caption - I can think of a couple, but I'm sure somebody can do better!

"HEY!!!   WHO'S THE SMART -*#$@!!  THAT's TRYING TO HIDE THIS FROM ME!?!"

In this next chapter, we are discovering the interesting life inside our latest addition to all the many things Mums and Dads seem to find necessary to decorate the perch with!

These 2 are so faded out because I took them without a flash and they came out very dark - if I try to pump up the contrast, they get so grainy you can't even see - and I wanted to show how we actually "matched" the TeePee to CJ - without even trying!  (I just hate the glare from a flash, but Im putting up a couple of those as well!

The top came tied in a bundle, but I opened it up to let some light in and also so we could get things into the TeePee that might draw his interest - he guards the front door so well that you can't get past him to put anything inside!

He's almost in!  I'm projecting great progress by the end of the weekend!
