Manu looks very magnificents in the photos! I just love your page. Thanks for also sharing your story about Piper and Poppy. It must have been very sad to have to remember the tragedy of the past. Thanks for sharing. |

Nice hompage! I want to say that when I got my fiirst bird (a cockatiel) I was 12 and I thought I was taking care of him properly. I had to give him up when I went to college, as my Mom didn't want to take care of him. Anyway, I have recently learned I wasn't feeding him properly amount other things. I regret it very much because I loved my bird. But, like you, I think I can sort of make up for it now. Once I get my Lovebird I will know how to better care for it. And I can share my knowledge with other people who have birds as pets.

Beautiful bird! It's amazing how vibrant bird colors can get. Your page is great! I liked the movie clips too. I never realized there were so many other bird lovers besides me out there!

I just visited your site. Manu is beautiful. Poppy is very beautiful also. I am partal to tiels myself. I'm sorry to here about the loss of Piper. It's hard to loose a dear friend. I'm still dealing with the loss of my tiel Digger. He died very suddenly in June. He had just been to the Vet 2 months prior and was healthy. I'll never know what happened to him but he will always be in my heart. I also had a memorial plaque made up for him, There are 2 of his favorite pictures along with his favorite bell toy and a collection of different feathers that I saved put into it. It hangs on the wall in my bedroom. The birds we loose will always stay in our hearts. |

Hi Cathy,
I was delighted to find your comment on Peitertjie and Attie's page. I am really glad that Manu addapted to his new home. I know how heartbreaking it is to see an animal suffer. They truely have emotions just like us.
I was just as sad to read Piper's story. That is one of my biggest fears - to find one of my birds strangled or drowned. It seemed as if Poppy came out of his shell quite nicely. I hope that you'll have many good years with him still to come. |

cathy , its terri , look under the tail feathers of your cockatiel , if it is plain its a male , if it has bars under the tail its a female , easiest way to tell , and most generally the males are more vocal than the females , tho i have seen some pretty vocal females ,, and manu is beautiful ,, hold on to hom and never let him go , my alex was a female we believe , mainly due to her sweetness and gabby had to be a male , if you would like to tal email me bird2fancy4me@wmconnect.com ,, talk soon , terri |

I
LOVE
this page! You babies are very sweet. The newest, Jennie is the same age my little J.P. was when we got him. Nippy is an understatement! He has such a little beak but he managed to inflict some wounds on my husband and myself that you would have though came from a macaw. He actually took a chunk that was larger than his whole beak out of my husband's hand! But, nearly 4 months and a box of band-aids later, he is a little love now. He still gets a little bitey from time to time but never draws blood. It's more like an attention getter and he always looks guity afterwards. |
