Eclectus as singles make good pets, quieter then most greys and all conures...lol
They don't make good pets if kept in pairs.
They are one of the hardest to raise from handfeeding due to the extra long necks they have and the tiny crops that fill very easy.
More Ekkies are killed thru rough improper handfeeding then anything else.
Females tend to be abit mouthier (bitey) then males.
Males make the best pets in a single bird household. |

I would have to say quietier but then again it depends on what else is in the home...more birds more noise.
Males kept as only birds tend to be very good birds, not screamers and can learn to talk quite well. |

I see where you said ...you had to take bird back to store...theres where your problem mostly lay hun...pet store birds are often not properly socialized and will end up with temperment problems....I would seriously concider buying your next bird from a breeder who Hand raises and feeds all babies they sell. |

no....no problems since taking my boys outside...it was actually about 50 degrees...and if they actually even touched the snow it was for about 2 mins. max....I've been hearing that your area has had alot more snow and cold weather this season than we have.....
usually we get about 4-5 feet...we barely got one in some places.
I've been meaning to ask you...about how much could I expect to pay for an Eclectus? in general? |

Yes it's been super cold here...we don't have snow and mild temps...lol
I only have Vos Eclectus and sell 16 to 24 week old weaned handfed babies for 900.00, same price for my Camroon Greys.
My amazons and conures are less of course. |

There are several variations on the Grey...most people only know the Timmys and the Congos...they both came from africa but totally differant parts with differant climates which caused changes in size, color, tempermant, feeding and breeding patterns. There were at one time about 7 differant strains of Greys...Cameroons are the largest and lightest in color of those strains. |

What are Cameroon African greys? According to the parrot encyclopedia there are only two kinds of greys: The CAG and the TAG. |
