Do Cage to Aviary transitions work?
My IRN Shrek is prolly around 3 years old (he got his full ring with his last major moult earlier this year). He could talk when I got him so I figured he must have been a pet before he came to me but he is still a little uncertain around people which I marked down to his age. I have had him in a cage and have been giving him regular time in the house to stretch his wings and play. I may have to put him into an aviary if I move but mum told me that she saw some show about parrots that said that most parrots his size and larger are at risk of developing nervous problems (such as feather plucking) if moved from a pet situation to an aviary due to lack of contact with thier people. If I did move him into an aviary I was planning on spending time with him daily ne way and also getting him a friend or mate. Can I do the aviary thing without harming him? Also, would he take ok to another IRN or is it too late for that? Im worried.
