That's so great that Horus and the ringneck fell in love like that! I'm sure he's going to be really happy in his new home
By the way, was Horus tested for beak and feather disease? Because I remember you mentioning that Picasso may have gotten it from your lorikeets? |

I didn't find out Picasso had PBFD until after Horus went into the avairy, I told my neighbour about it when I found out and she didn't seem concerned, being in the avairy her birds are exposed to wild birds every day. I wish I knew where he'd got it from. |

So your neighbour didn't get Horus tested? |

No she didn't test Horus, it was a bit late by the time I found out, if he'd been positive he would have already infected the other birds, none of them have shown any symptoms so I don't think it's likely Picassso did get it from the lorikeets, I think it's most likely he got it from wild birds, I didn't realise at the time but when I moved house I found wild bird droppings behind the pot plants on my balcony so it's possible that Picasso was exposed to them, even though I don't remember ever seeing wild birds on my balcony they may have been attracted by the plants. |

That's pretty scary that Picasso could've gotten the disease from birds he hasn't even been exposed to Do you know if the vaccine is on the market yet? Or is it still being tested? |

Yeah, he was still a baby then, still eating everything including poo so it's possible I guess but none of the suggestions on how he might have got it seem to be very likely, I'm still at a loss to explain it. I think the vaccine is on the market overseas, I don't think it is available here. |

Awww shell Horus is just gorgeous. I almost bought a little scaley breast lorrie home last week. It lives in an avairy near my place. I took Pilot there for a look around and the little scaley fell in love with him completely. He wasn't tamed but he flew over to the wire and started jumping about, then started showing off and trying to look as impressive as possible while making the cutest noises. Then he started trying to feed Pi through the wire. It was the cutest thing ever. I wish I had enough time and room to get him. Seeing Horus just makes me want to go back right now |

I miss Horus sometimes, he used to lay on his side next to me and get his head scratched while we watched TV together but I can still visit him and I know he's happier in the avary. He makes cute little noises too, sounds a bit like R2-D2 and he talks in a little CB radio voice. He gets really possessive around other birds though and kicks up a stink if you butt in when he's being social with his friends. |
