Ok so here is the thing. I have a Rainbow/Green Naped Lory who I love very much. He is extremely smart, and an excellent miimicer. I bought him from the pet store where I work because he had attached him self to me, literally. When he was with me, on my finger or on me(he likes to hang on my shirt) if anyone tried to touch him, he would practically rip their finger off. Even if I was trying to put him back in the cage he would do the same. But when it was just me and him, he was a sweet heart. So I convinced my parents and I brought him home, hoping to teach him some manners. He has gotten better, I can now get him to step up for other people, as long as he is on my finger. But he still has the same problems if I go to put him back, or take him off me. The worst part is due to his lory beak, pointy and very sharp, he does major damage. So if you have any advice, I don't mind getting bit if it will end up solving this problem. Thank you very much!

Yikes, that sounds painful.. May I ask where he's located if he's on you? Is he on your shoulder?
If he is, I'd consider letting him on your hand ONLY!
Most birds get defensive when they're perched on shoulders and are tried to take off.. |

Oh I see.. Can you try training him to sit on your hand? Perhaps on a handheld perch? |
