loosing feathers!!??!!  Reply with quote

As above really, is this normal, the male(as far as i can figure) seems to be loosing his feathers, most of them seem to be small fluffy ones! could this because of the heat, or could they be baby feathers?

how many feathers is he loosing in terms of per day? He could be molting.. they generally molt their down feathers (fluffy ones) first before they loose the bigger ones.

oh, that sounds pretty normal for molting... molting is basically when a bird shed their old feathers and get new and shiny ones... I think it'll be loosing some of the bigger feathers like wings and tail feathers soon. Smile soon, you'll have a pillow factory exploded in your house... my house is a constant explosion of feathers... especially from the budgies!!! Confused Laughing Laughing
