| loosing feathers!!??!! |

As above really, is this normal, the male(as far as i can figure) seems to be loosing his feathers, most of them seem to be small fluffy ones! could this because of the heat, or could they be baby feathers? |

how many feathers is he loosing in terms of per day? He could be molting.. they generally molt their down feathers (fluffy ones) first before they loose the bigger ones. |

em not sure maybe 5 to 10 but its not everyday and usually only when there out flying about!
what is moulting?!?  |

oh, that sounds pretty normal for molting... molting is basically when a bird shed their old feathers and get new and shiny ones... I think it'll be loosing some of the bigger feathers like wings and tail feathers soon.  soon, you'll have a pillow factory exploded in your house... my house is a constant explosion of feathers... especially from the budgies!!!   |
