What a pretty lb you got Congratulations!
I have a lb and a tiel. They have completely different personalities but somehow they do get along (there are better and worse days ). I don't see why two different species of birds should not be allowed to be buddies... My two make up a great duo But... to be honest I don't keep them in one cage. Each has their own "apartment", however close together so they can see each other and interact. I let them out together and most of the time they play nicely and get along.
As long as your two birdies are similar in size and fairly young at introduction, they might get along pretty well. |

Hi, I think your lovebird is a dutch blue pied. Pieds can either be very heavy like this bird:

or very light like this bird:

Some pied birds may have just one yellow feather or even none at all. Where yellow feathers appear is completely random. I think your lovie just happened to get yellow feathers on his forehead. |

Another thing, if he was on a poor diet with his previous owner then his feathers may have come in a little washed out. If he still has the yellow after his next molt, then he's probably a pied. |

Sorry I have been AWOL. Well Squeekers has really settled in. He is a kick, why I ever thought these guys where not "real"parrots is beyond me. Squeek is to the point of falling asleep in my hand at night and he has allready joined some of my other pets going to schools teaching kids about pet care.
I went to the last months bird club meeting and took my son with me. He has been really wanting a bird. LOL We won another lovebird on the raffle table! Its a real sweet little male who is well trained and tame all ready. My son is so proud of his little friend, and his room is clean in the first time ever with out me doing it!
After Qt we have let them have play time together on the play pen. They love to play but after about 40min. they start getting nippy and we take them back to there own cages. Other then a twice a day "yelling"time there are really nice little birds that do not make near the noise I thought they would. They live in diffent rooms from each other and have not bonded. |

Glad to hear that Squeekers has settled in well! And I think it's a great idea to let the 2 of them have some play time together! |
