Yup, it's definitely a scam. Pretty much any time you see "fertile eggs" advertised, it's a scam. I would never purchase a pet, without physically seeing and holding the animal first. |

I got Gryffin and Starion without seeing them first, but I got them from some of the most reputable well known breeders in the US Their feathers were pretty damaged, but you see that in babies a lot. They're fine now, but Starion breaks blood feathers a lot! |

Oh, of course it's different when it's from a reputable and well-known breeder. But it's not a wise idea to do the same with these personal ads for example on Craig's List, or kijiji, because a lot of them are scams.
Does Starion really break blood feathers often? must be a very rough player A little while ago I found big huge blood drops all over the perch and bottom of my doves cage. I have no idea where it came from. Both of them, their feathers are white as snow, and no signs of injuries on their feet either?!? Don't know if it was a blood feather, or something else |

Her wings were all growing out, so they were very vulnerable for a while... almost done now. She gets phobic of new objects very easily and freaks out, or she tries to fly and can't control it. She was already stained brown on one entire wing when I got her. It is still that way since the ones that molted were only the flight feathers.
I hope your doves are okay! I'd not worry if you haven't seen that happen since. I wonder what it could have been?
Yeah, that would be scary to me to buy an animal from Craigslist or some classified site. Adrion, who died of PDD came from a store, but the "broker" who sold her to the store is always on those classified sites. Makes me mad. |
