Two days ago my hubby and I went on a bike ride (motorcycle) to a new bird store, I have heard of it but have never been. Considering it was an hour away and I have one closer it just didn't seem that big of a deal to go there. Well hubby asked if I wanted to check it out and have a fun ride too...any excuse for him to get on that bike!  When we walked in I noticed the food, which is what I was looking for, then the birds...he has macaws , beautiful ones, they are his pets that he brings into the shop with him.....well as I was admiring them I kept walking and then my heart stopped.......the most beautiful bird I have ever laid my eyes on! A hyacinth macaw  He was gorgeous! So regal looking and so big too. It tore my heart to walk away form there but I did promise to come back! Have any of you been lucky to own one? I think that would be the ultimate bird...tho I do hear that they are a challenge. What do you think? |

Wow! A hyacint! They're sooo big! I don't know anyone that owns one, not in person.. 
According to my avian vet, the real challenges are cockatoos.
He said: There are parrots and there are cockatoos..  Boy, am I lucky.. He he he..
He used to have a hyacint in his clinic, but I've never ever seen it! |
