Hey Fairy! I just read your diarypage..
Too bad your dad won't follow your instructions.. Macaw nips are quite painful, I think! Shocked
Why won't your dad follow the instructions? It'd be good if Kailani gets along with your dad too.. Smile

Hey, it's great that you're socializing her. Tho, I agree, people should handle her the way you ask them to.

Manu does real well with my family, UNLESS I'm within reach, then he'll be a little obstinate & hold out for me. And you know, any bird is going to be more obstinate when it's inside the cage.

Hehe. Yes I do secretly, and shamefully love it when my babies only love me and attack everyone else, but I know I should try to get her to at least accept them into her flock. It's just that when I first got her I was concerned that she would pick one of them over me. I guess it's silly now since she knows who da mama is now, but I'm still a little worried. She's coming with me when I move out, and I always want her to be my special baby.

yeah...at least you're honest enough to confess! Very Happy

I think its something all of us faced at one time or the other...that secret wish that our fids love us best...sometimes at the expense of other people.

but well, some people take this as the one-person bird behaviour and consider it a problem.

particularly if we are not around and someone else have to take over the care giving for a while.

Shirin! Razz

My hubby is not much for handling Manu, but he does give her a little scritch & talks to him whenever he comes home from work. And there are even times when we will be sitting on the couch with Manu & he wont want anything to do with me, which always makes hubby feel good! At least until Manu starts biting on his shoe laces or shirt sleeves Wink

well Imade the mistake of not socialising my cockatoo very well, so now I'm paying the price that he's one of the most antisocial bird around the joint!! LOL... so now I gotta start from scratch and hopefully he'll be less of a mean bird to visitors!! They all call him 'Killer Bird' when they come to visit me.. hehe, coz Apollo likes to attack them.. just like a 'killer bird' would!! LOL
