The cry, does she do it with lifting her wing? I've seen many macaws doing this. It's typically macaw-ish! |

I think she's just having fun with all the new noises she's learning to make! Then again, I'm not a macaw behaviourist.
But a warning - my macaw has picked up crying that could break your heart! I think he's picked it up from my 3 yr old grand daughter. He also laughs like crazy |

Oh, you have to laugh to hear it, but at the same time, it just melts your heart ! My neighbor has said it's scary how human he sounds! He doesn't do it real often, mostly when both of my grandkids are here. And sometimes he'll be crying, then laughing all at the same time & if that don't get him attention, it turns into a demanding noise & it's SO funny, the poor little STINKER |

Hi Stacy
It just sounds like Kiwi is learning some new sounds.
Linus "practices" all new words endlessly in a very soft mumble then when he feels like it sounds right he starts talking louder. This is normal parrot behavior.
He does not cry but he has several laughs, including one he learned from my neighbor who makes a snorting sound when she laughs.
