Hi everyone, new to the board. Wanted to take my B&G kilo to my brothers' house. Well, she got car sick. She was playing doing her usual trying to dismantle the inside of my car, playing with her toy hanging off the rearview mirror etc. then she was bobbing like she wanted to regurg. Next thing ya know she was slinging spew. I thought it might have been an isolated incident, but a minute or so later she started agan; so I bought her bac home. Poor baby, she is fine now. I guess from now on its the carrier for her.

My African Grey gets car sick too. I thought it would stop if we went on more car rides, and she had a chance to get used to the car, but it hasn't gotten any better, she throws up everytime . |

My B&G has never been "car sick", but he does get very nervous when he's in the car if his cage isn't covered. Is she in the car often, & is this the first time she's been car sick? |

No not the first time in a car cheetah. The first time out he/she did get sick. I have had her out on at least 3 other outings to his place (about an hour away) with no trouble. I'm thinking, she may have just eaten her morning meal, wearas, previously it may have been at least an hour after she ate. I will pay closer attention, after all my driving cant be thaaat bad!?!?!?
Take care

Hmmm that is strange, that this is the first time she got sick?
Was she located in another seat then? |

fluffy, embarassed to say no she is on my shoulder or arm while driving. she has a toy hanging from the rearview mirror that she usually ocupies her time with. I no this is not the wisest thing to do (kinda preaching to the choir) but, she enjoys being out while with me.

Hey there! I didn't mean to embarrass you with that question. I just thought, perhaps it was caused by the place where she was seated..
I must admit that sometimes, I keep my birds on my arm too. But then, I'm not the driver. |

Maybe you can get a shower perch and attach it to the passenger window. I find this very useful while driving and Chaquita LOVES it You can see what I'm talking about in my diary where we go to the park. |

hi chaquitas mom. I bought one of those shower perches for just that reason. I stuck it on the window & it sagged. I gave my monte carlo to my son as a wedding present. Mabey the ford taurus window is straighter? I also wanted to compliment you on your creativity & design making the play stand. What a G R E A T job! you have inspired me. As far as the poop contest sorry, rank amature lol. Tonka my cag her morning poo is unbelievable. My kilo the macaw on occasion can match her in the morning. not to sound gross or anything, but my bichon likes his vegetables if you know what I mean. extra crispy (al dante ) not raw.
take care
