| psittacosis in petsmart |
|
|
I just got my new bird talk magazine, and it said the reason that petsmart hasn't been selling birds is because they tested positive for the psittacosis disease! ahhh! I go in there all the time isn't it an airborn disease, or atleast, can be carried on your clothes right? I am a little mad at the store, they had a sign up but it just said they weren't selling birds right now, you'd think they would have HAD to put up why right? Atleast out of respect for us bird owners so we can be careful right? anyway I will try to find the page for ya'll on their website incase I left something out or misread it... |

Hi Cystanley,
That must have been a big scare for you.
Did you have your Jazzy tested to make sure?
If I read the story on the linked article I get the idea that they only make a big fuss about it because human can get ill to. |

And what is even worse: If the parrots have a disease that human can not get, then they will tell you notting.
For some is the pet-trade all about money. |
