Does anyone know of any harmful effects from birds eating cherries, or apricots?
They're not something we normally have on hand, but every once in awhile, hubby has a taste for what I call "the exotic", & brought some home yesterday. |

I don't know about apricots, but I think cherries are okay, just make sure to wash them REALLY well, cuz I know they use a lot of pesticides. I've given cherries to Bunny a couple of times, and he just LOVES it, although it stains his feet for a couple of days
Speaking of cherries, this Saturday me and the family are going to a farm for cherry picking! It's going to be so much fun, last year we came home with 3 huge baskets full, and it's so much cheaper than buying them from the grocery store! |

Oh, that does sound like a lot of fun I hope it's a great time for you!
Yeah, I will wash them good, I'm always very concerned about pesticides too. Thanks for letting me know, I'll hold off on the apricots until I hear differently. |

Hi ladies...
Just to mentioned that it's ok to give cherries to them, but not the pit inside it!! Take the pit out first as the inner soft bits are a little toxic. Even to human. It's the same as the Apricot. It's ok to give them the fruit part, but not the stone/pit inside. It may make a fun toy, but it's the same as the cherries, it's a little toxic on the inside. |
