| Zupreem pellets?? need help |
|
|
I have a 15 month TAG which also is a picky eater. I also feed zupreen fruit blend pellets. Is there another pellet in Canada that is better. I have tried Harrisons with no luck. He would eat 6 pellets today and not eat them again for a week. Even with his pellets he's not crazy when he gets a new bowl first thing in the morning. The only thing he lovessss is his tropimix Sun. mornings.Right now he's on a kick of squash, turnip.A week from now he won't even look at it.Some days he will eat brocolli and other days throw it to the floor. The same goes for apple, orange, cooked bean mix, brown rice, bananas, He does like a piece of my toast which he doesn't get very often. I need to find a pellet that he loves and is of value to him and to reduce my worry. At times I don't think he eats enough.
It seems that when I get home is when he will eat some pellets. |

I had a stubborn grey once that wouldn't touch pellets. I took the Harrisons and crushed it up, softened with a little water, mixed with a little peanut butter and spread it on his toast. He ate it that way and I felt better that at least I got a little into him that way.

Snoop is on Zoopreem now. I was never able to find Harrisons in any stores nearby She sneered at it when it first went into her cage, so I gave her small amounts, then began slowly decreasing the amount of the grains, etc. that I'd been feeding her until she stomached her pride, and began eating it more. She readily eats it now.
If your bird doesn't like pellets, Quiana is extremely healthy for birds and people, providing a higher proteing content then any grain. It also has vitamins, plus other needed nutritions. Snoop gets it with her quota of pellets, and was fed it before/while I was switching her over to Zoopreem. I think she likes it even better than millet spray! |

I have heard that quinoa is eaten by some people (other culture) if there's nothing to eat. One can survive quite some time with quinoa?
I don't know the source anymore. |

I feed mine Tropican by Hagen. They seem to like it. |

I know the Zupreem fruit pellets are very popular, but in my humble opinion, I would not feed those. To put it simply, they have a lot of sugar and artificial junk in them. There is much controversy out there as to whether pellets are actually good or not. I personally believe that the pellets that can be beneficial are the more natural pellets... uncolored, and made by the cold pressed rather than extruded method. This way you have more nutrients in the pellet. Roudybush, and Harrison's are some favorites here.
I believe the main part of the birds' diet should be fresh foods like vegetables, bean and legume mixes, brown rice, sprouted seeds. |
