I know this is an older post but where I'm at harrisons is no more expensive from the avian vet than Zupreem Avian Entrees. I started Macey out on this, which I thought was a great choice, but did not even get through the entire bag. Hard as rock dried peas, funky carrots, and rubbery apple bits mixed with a "natural" extruded "pellet." Which, upon further research did not sound so wonderful.

My mom swears by Harrisons and I agree. It's worth the trip to get it as far as I'm concerned. It's what makes sense, IMO, to leave in the cage all the time for her (when she's in there). Her feathers, beak, and the skin on her feet are a 100% more radient than they were when I rescued her. (seed and dirty water only diet...ughhh..I hate people sometimes! Is it that hard to at least wash a dish and refresh the water? Takes what? Maybe a minute 30?!

All those added colors are for us anyway, not for the birds. Sure they like different colors and shapes, but there are so many other ways to provide that variety.
