| Aggresion!!!! |

For some reason, Dobby's been really moody latly. He is usually playful and gentle and steps up willingly. But about three days ago he started bitting for no reason and it is impossible to get him to step up without getting bitten several times . Is it possible for him to be maturing? He is only 3 months old. That seems much too young! doesn't it???? Sometimes I have to put him back because he is impossile to handle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What is wrong with him |

Is he moulting? I've heard birds get a bit moody with all those pinfeathers coming in.. doesn't seem to affect my budgie though Other than that I don't have a clue I think someone else would probably be a bit more help. |

What kind of bird is he? Is his cage above your eye level? Has there been a change in routine? How much sleep does he get? My parrotlet is a grump if she gets less than 12 hours of sleep in a dark and quiet place. |

He is a maroon tailed conure. We temporeraly moved him upstairs because our downstairs living room was flooded and we are cleaning it with harmful cemechals! I am guessing that he got less than 12 hours of sleep those few days as it is much noisier upstairs. He is now moved back down and although he has gotten better he still bites and screams for no reason. I was told that he is testing us on what he can get away with, is that true??? Aparently he is considered a young adult a 6 months. Will he get over this? |

It sounds reasonable that a young adult bird would test you after what her perceived to be ab ordeal. If he doesn't simmer down, you can get a test kit at the home improvement store in case there are molds from the flood that bother him. Mold in the living environment can change people's behavior... |
