Does everyones birds love to climb everything? What are their favorite things to climb? Pi is a climbing maniac Her latest trick is to climb the flywire on our windows!! I leave her and Pepe by the window sill after their shower in the mornings to dry off and look at the avairy birds outside, and she now jumps up the wire, hooks in her claws and climbs like mad all over. She can't use her beak because the wire is too fine but she just holds on with her feet. Pepe just looks at her like she's bonkers. There is nothing she won't climb if she gets the chance. I love rock climbing so maybe its rubbed off? |

Yes, my birds love climbing too! Bunny has a lot of plastic chain toys, and she's always climbing them and hanging upside down from them and swinging. Lovebirds climb everything, their toys, the blinds and curtains, my clothes, my hair.. |

Chaquita isn't much of a climber, not an extreme climber anyway. But then she's a bit older and probably has grown out of her playfullness. |

CJ and the plastic chain! Oh my goodness, can he climb!!!
We've got the hanging perch we made for him out of that and dowels. But we have some loose lengths of the chain left over. Now, check this out.....
Somehow, a barstool wound up underneath the hanging perch, and some of the loose chain was hanging from the perch to the bar stool. He found out that he can climb down the loose chain to get to the barstool! Actually, he will climb down to the floor if he wants to!
Sometimes, I'll put one of his favortie toys at the bottom of the chain - it's fun to watch him scramble down to get to it. One time, the chain was kind of swagged from the perch, and he wanted to get up the chain to his perch....he actually managed to get upright - standing on the bottom of the loop of chain! Not very steadily, but he did it!
He's so much more adventurous than he was when we brought him home last year! He's such a joy! |

Riff Bunny used to be a lot shyer when we first brought her home too. But now she's way more adventurous. She actually climbs to the floor, walks over to the lovebird's cage and starts to climb up it, which is a bad idea unless she wants to get her toes bitten or she goes and start exploring the room |

Yes,Mylo climbs everychance he get even the flywire in the room l'm in .He even has learn't that it's better to climb down my clothes to walk around than jump of like he used to many months ago.Even in the backyard he loves to climb around the wire on the avairies outside, more than when he is in them.climb climb climb..must be a parrot thing .When l'm driving around with him he get's restless and climbs from seat to seat(via his perch l made for him)to check things out.I surpose in Mylo's case he can't fly so he make's the most of the next best thing feet..he..he.. |
