Fingers and toes  Reply with quote

Booboo is going through a new stage Rolling Eyes
For the last few days he started biting my fingers and toes. He will just sit on my foot or my hand and chomp down the toes/fingers one by one. The louder I screem the more fun he seems to have Confused
"No!" or time out don't seem to be helping Confused And it hurts! Shocked

hmmm sorry to hear that Booboo has found the little toes and fingers as toys... Sad

May be just try to prevent him from getting to your toes? and I guess screaming doesn't help either as he's getting a reaction from you, but I know what it's like though to try not to scream, its almost impossible!! LOL...

I'm sorry I can't be of more help. may be someone else has better ideas..

Good luck with it.. I hope it's just a phase he's going through.

Rolling Eyes Monika Pistachio bites a lot too, especially my fingers, or sometimes when she's sitting on my shoulder she lunges at my neck Sad OWCH! It hurts a lot, especially because of the sharp part of her beak. And a lot of time she breaks skin. I don't scream, usually I just say No! and put her back in the cage, but giving her time out doesn't make a difference, she just bites again the next time she comes out Mad . I'm beginning to think that it's just her nature to be aggressive. Hazelnut doesn't bite though, he's so nice and sweet, he only uses his beak to preen me and give me kisses Smile

Oh yikes, I bet those lovebird bites can hurt quite a bit!
How about distracting him before he will bite? Can you tell when he's about to bite?
Then reward him if he does something you want.
You can let him sit somewhere else, or bite in a tissue for example.

I think so too... or at least I hope so I should say!
He seems to be going through those phases that eventually pass. We'll see I guess.

Booboo preens me and gives me kisses most of the time too but then all of the sudden he turns around and chomps down on my toe! Confused
I think he might be jealous of Papug...? He seems to be doing that when I'm scratching Papug or talking to him. I usually divide my time between the two equally and since they are always out together I play with them at the same time. I guess Booboo might want my attention all to himself! Rolling Eyes

Sometimes. I try to prevent it then but it doesn't work most of the time. the little bugger works with the speed of the light Rolling Eyes

It could be jealousy. Pistachio sometimes gets mad when I pick up hazelnut too, but in those instances she goes to bite him, not me. I don't know what is with her, she just likes to bite Confused I have tried distracting her, but like Booboo, she's fast , and she just goes for my hand and disregards whatever I'm holding up to distract her with Sad

Honda likes to chew on my fingers too but he's not mean about it. Now on the other hand, he likes to pinch my neck Shocked VERY ANNOYING!! It seemed to help by putting him down everytime he started doing it. He actually quit for a while and started back up again and I had to do it all over again.

Hot pepper sauce will stop a puppy from chewing things. Too bad birds like peppers... Is there something safe that tastes or feels nasty to birds? We could paint it on our skin.

Oh, I have to watch my bare feet around Manu & Jennie Shocked I think my toes must look like some kind of edible melon or something! Both of them definitely try to eat my toes when given the opportunity! I just don't offer it!
