Hello everybody!
How are you guys?
Sorry for my long silence... I have been so busy.
Here I am giving news about Birras and Berros!
Birras is learning everything very fast... he says a lot words and sentences. He is a really funny parrot... and he has learnt to say "shut up" to Berros when he screams... lolol
Berros is much more confident, he rarely screams and he's trying to say some words. He whitles pretty nice and makes a lot of new sounds. He flies very well and his favoutite toy is a Ikea magazine that is on top of a cupboard and makes the pages into little pieces. He enjoys my presence and both have become very noisy... lol...specially when I am on the phone or in paltak.
The parrots continue to get along very well... they are very fond of each other... but we can see clearly that Birras dominates.
Berros still doesn't allow me to touch him and I don't insist, but he comes near when I interact with Birras. He loves to watch me and Birras playing and makes funny sounds while looking at us. I am letting Berros take his time. They both look beautiful and healthy. Full of energy. I think Berros will be saying words pretty soon.
Now that Berros is not screaming so much... I enjoy their company... they make such amusing things. In the evening they become so tender to each other... it is so sweet to see them.
Well...that's all folks.
I will keep in touch.

Hello everybody,
Hi guys, how are you all?
Here i am giving the last news from my parrots. Birras is great, learns words very fast... and makes all sort of strange kind of sounds... especially caughing...oooh he caughs and caughs... sounds like an old man in a crisis!...lololol
Berros...Imagine my friends... has learnt his first word...Olá, which means hello. I am so happy about it. I was loosing my hope about his "speaking".
Berros is already enjoying that we look at him straight in his eyes... from a certain distance... and interacts responding to whistles and sounds... when i call him he looks towards me.
He is still very far from letting me touch him... but sometimes i touch him in a tricky way... and he gives me a CRAAA... ... there are days that he doesn't scream at all... and only does it very rarely... he prefers to keep a certain distance from humans.
Birras and Berros are very tender to each other... oooh they are so sweet! And Lazzy me...i haven't taken the DNA test yet. But i have a feeling Berros is a female. I really have to make that test.
Every evening they come out of the cage and enjoy our company. Berros is enjoying the toys and has become more relaxed on his or her positions...
Geee I am dying to touch him, scratch his head!!!!
Well, guys now i have to go...i will come later to tell you more things.
bye

Hi everybody,
How are you all? I have been away for quite a long time...but I am back... with Birras & Berros. I didn't have much to say about Berros' behaviour, I realized how slow the improvement is. Anyway, now I have news.
All this time i have been very patient...as you can imagine. But as I am as stubborn as Berros, I have been trying to make friends with him. I can now get much closer to him without receiving those terrible screams. I talk to him in a low voice and with slow movements. And I have made a routine everyday. During the day i do the same things more or less at the same hour and in a certan order. For example, in the morning i greet them, then i go to the window next to the cage, then i clean the cage, take away the food recipients and feed them. As I am doing my house work i often go near the cage to say hello. In the afternoon i spend some time talking to them in front of the cage. Whenever i go out as I arrive home i go and greet them. In the end of aternoon i feed them again and several times during the day i open the cage to play and touch Birras ( the soft one). In the evening i let them fly arround the house. I believe this routine helped Berros to get more confident and to trust me.
So here are the news.....
Berros is saying more words very clearly.
When i open the cage to touch Birras, Berros comes to me and tries to touch my hand, i touch his head and then i give him a peanut. I discovered he loves peanuts. ( But always with feathers in the air )
He is playing with objects and toys. He is now more curious.
And... imagine...he makes a special noise with the bic in the food recipient when it is empty.
And you know those sounds parrots make, like a whisper, when they want to be sweet and lovely and want to be caressed? He is making those sounds now, to get my attention.
He gives his paw to the stick, i still don't dare to try with my finger
He has become ver beautiful and big. Maybe because he has a more straight position. When he opens his wings....oh they are big and perfect.
In resume, with parrots with this kind of behaviour... we need 3 things... patience, patience and patience. Routine is essential. And do not rush. Sometimes we need to show some indifference. We must take advantage of their curiosity.
When i stopped trying to touch him, and kept on touching the other parrot... he oberved... now Berros' is giving the first step to touch me. All this process of no touching took several months, a week ago he gave the first step.
I believe that when I am scratching the other parrot's head... Berros thinks:" That must be good, look how my fellow is full of pleasure...shoul I try?"
The only person Berros allows to come very near to him is me, the other people in the house is tolerated but not so near... and strangers can not get near the cage as he starts with the screams.
On the other hand, Birras has learnt so many words and says them in the right time. He is really funny. Answers the phone, the door, and calls our names. He laughs just like me and keeps telling Berros to shut up. It is amazing... if I repeat a word several times today, tomorrow he will say it. And he sings and sings in such a funny way. He tell the dog to sit, asks her if she wants to go out and calls her mad when she eats his food that fell on the floor. And he barks too.
By the way, my female dog, a white Labrador, is pregnant... and the father...a champion in Europe. I'm dying to see the puppies.
Ok guys, i hope that all this novel may help anyone who has a wild parrot like mine.
Sometimes I wonder... will I ever put my fingers in Berros' feathers in an easy way ? Let's hope so...
I will keep in touch.
Bye

Hiiiiii guys.
It has been a while i have been away. I hope you are all doing well. Unfortunatelly i dont have good news, Birras & Berros last monday opened cage and flew away. I have been desperate looking for them. Today i had phone call from lady saying a parrot landed on her yard. I went there straight away, luckly it was one of them...Berros. So the poor Berros landed in her yeard, hit against a wall and fainted, dogs almost got him, kid in house saved him and took him home as he was unconcious. When i got there he was recovered but seems in shock. He has some superficial wounds on head and bik scratched. I took him home about two hours ago, it is night time, he went right away into his cage and has been staring at me for all this time. Lady who found him said he ate, but i am so afraid this shock might affect him. Plus i still hope to find Birras the younger and talking one. God this is killing me! I am sure Berros is missing Birras, I hope Birras hears Berros and comes home. I really needed to share this with you, i feel so sad and worried about how Berros will react and hoping he does not go backwards in hard tame process,
regards to you all
