HELP  Reply with quote

I got some parakeets about three weeks ago. They all seemed fine until I came home from work today. They were sitting on the bottom of the cage. One of them (Mel) has no strength at all hardly. He could barely sit on my finger and keeps his eyes closed most of the time. He's also messed on himself. Please help me.

Oh, I'm afraid it sounds as if this is something we can't help you with over the computer. They need to be seen by an avian vet right away! If that's not possible, at this point any kind of vet would be better than nothing! Keep them warm & quiet for now. I'm sorry that's all I can tell you right now.
I sure wish you all the very best of luck!

Oh dear.. I'm so sorry to hear that.. I'm afraid Cathy's right. It is not something that we'll be able to help you with over the computer, or in person really... they really do need to go the avian vet, or like Cathy said, any vet will do at this stage...Take them both in. and yes, keep them both warm and quiet. I'm so sorry once again that your parakeets are sick. Sad Good luck. Please keep us posted.

I'm sorry as well that I can't be of more help.

Definately take them to a vet right away and also throw out any teflon pans you might be using!! If all three are affected then something poisoness is hurting them!! Aerosol sprays, household cleaners, being too close to a vent with constant air blowing on them can also kill them.

Please, let us know how everything goes Sad
