Hi!
Do you mean 'get along' in terms of 'living in the same cage'?
If so, please don't assume this, as most birds will require their own cage..
As far as playing together, please read this topic first: http://www.fluffies.org/en/viewtopic.php?t=309 |

That's hard to predict.. Please follow the link in my previous message to read about introducing them to each other. Chances are that they can get along.. Or at least tolerate each other? |

That's a hard one to call Lisa
Different birds have different personalities... some of them gets on like house on fire, but others, well they couldn't be further away from each other or they'll hurt each other. So really, it really depends on the birds, and also even then, they should always be closely supervised when they are out together. |

We have had a meyers for about 6 months. He is sooooooo sweet & smart! I love him to pieces. He really took to me, not my hubby (who is the one who really really wanted a parrot). So when we went to the pet store we saw a senegal, that fell in love with my hubby right away. He was trying to feed my husband, was snuggling with him..... it was crazy. My meyers won't stay with him. My husband got so attached to this senegal it was crazy...... when he put him back, he said to the bird 'at least u love me, my meyers doesn't'......... he broke my heart.
the store manager, who i have become friends with, said that senegal didn't like anyone there, or any customers..... she was shocked.
So, the sap that I am, I told that manager to hold the bird, i will buy it and surprise my husband with it.
I went and bought the senegal later that evening for my hubby....
Best thing i ever did, that parrot is crazy for him.....
Anyways.... long story short.... they each have their own cages side by side, and one teaches the other new words/tricks all the time. They are company for each other too!
They don't get along real well outside the cage. We made a huge tree stand for them and let them both play on it. They are learning to tolerate each other. The senegal is more interested in being with my husband (not me at all), and the meyers with me (not him), more than anything else.
I am glad we have both birds.
Hope that helps! |
