| poor beans, he cant stop scratching |
|
|
Hi everyone, i'm new here and i need some help. My pet lorikeet(Beans) can't stop scratching himself, his head mainly and wings, he is also biting at his wings, and his wings keep twitching. This has been going on for more than 6 hours, it's way past his bedtime and i'm afraid that he wont get any sleep at all. We took him to the vet after 1 hour of this behaviour and they gave him an x-ray with all things clear for metal in his system.??? Is there any one who has experienced this sought of behaviour before and can you help me please.
Thanks |

oh dear,I just read this posts after replying to your other one. I'm so sorry to read that he's still scratching himself. Is it like a frantic scratch? do you think he has mites of some sorts that might be botherin him? I'm so sorry I really don't know what else could be wrong. |

What did the Vet say?
Have you tried offering him a bath? Did he eat something that's he not used to & got an allergic reaction?
It does sound like mites tho & there are lots of varieties. You live in Australia - could it have been a spider bite reaction?
Try out this sight for some ideas if you can't find any other info - lots of ideas here [see the home page - link at bottom of page] ~ http://www.landofvos.com/artic.....s/gse.html |
