| Ranks and parrots? |
|
|
Are there ranks among your parrots? Is there one of your parrots that is always the highest in rank?
Here, it's kind of strange
Iago's rank is above Wheezy & Scuttle, but he's below Zazu.
Zazu's rank is above Iago & Wheezy but under Scuttle.
Wheezy is above Scuttle, but under Iago & Zazu.
And Scuttle is above Zazu, but under Iago & Wheezy??
Very strange?? |

LoL Sue, that is kind of strange.
I guess there's just no figuring how the birds figure rank.
I would say with my birds, Jennie ranks top, then Manu, then Poppy. Believe it or not, Manu kind of bows to Jennie . Jennie is some times aggressive toward Manu & will bite on his tail if Manu gets it in her way Manu just gets this very puzzled, hurt feeling look on his face
Poppy doesn't really bow down to, or back off from the other birds, he always tries to run them off if Manu or Jennie happens to get on his cage, tho I don't think little Poppy would have much of a chance if they were actually to get at her |

Jennie ranks top?! That little girl.
Poor Manu, the big blue and yellow gentle giant.. I just can't believe he bows to Jennie.
Cockatiels are known for their pacifist nature, aren't they? |

Hehehe, yeah I am not surprised Apollo rules your house. I would be surprised if you'd tell me that let's say Lemon would rule. |

I could not even begin to figure out all of the ranks, I know Charlie (YNA) is king of the bird room. I know Snow Ball (budgie) is king of the tiel Cage. Ann (GWM) is to full of herself to worry about anything but food, Alex is just now figureing out that there is another cage in the room...

There are definate ranks among my budgies:
1. The Goose (female) she bosses the other 2 boy budgies around
2. Bluesy
3. Coney (he is disabled, missing part of his foot). I think thats why he is at the bottom of the hierarchy....but hes my favourite. |

My mum
My Dad who poppet attacks when he comes within two feet of him
when merlin was here him and poppet pretty much took turns attacking each other but poppet would have the upper hand because he would dive bomb merlin

Hahaha it's so funny to read the ranks of your birds.. But I agree with you that our birds mostly rank above us.. At least, we like to think that we're in charge but.. |

Beasty (male tiel) thinks he is the boss, but Tux (female tiel) just lets him do what he wants untill she had enough and then puts him in his place.
Teach(senegal) is just a rebel, he does what he dam well pleases, tux just ignores him, beasty chalanges him and even bites but Teach seems to think that Beasty wants to play.
(I had a bit of a scare when Teach grabed Tux her wing, Tux went balistic and Teach let it go no harm done, It looked like teach was just beeing playfull he is never agresive to the ot)her birds, he's just so much stronger, fairly clumsy and rembuctious.)
Teach even lets Beasty on his play pen and they eat togheter from the same bowl.
Beasty is king of the air he's an excelent flier and will try to crash teach if they are both flying
So there is no order around the birds i guess. |
