Bird carrier - front pack  Reply with quote

A very nice woman sent me her bird carrier - her Tiel would have nothing to do with it.

I can see some problems with it already.

1) It doesn't stay firmly upright when not on me. I have it hanging in the closet to keep its shape.
2)It is quite difficult to get on. I felt like Houdini.
3)The birds all think it is evil. I will try it out in the spring for a walk in the park - hope the Budgies like the adventure.
4) my friend with a Sennie thought it would be torn apart by her bird - the mesh doesn't seem bird proof - but I had thought a shorter tailed bird would suit this style of carrier best.

I have posted photos on my December 2007 diary page.

Does anyone have any experience with them?

I have never really like the idea of the those carrier. I guess it's because I have bigger birds and they like to bited things. Nothing last with those birds of mine!! LOL.

That's a nice carrier. I have seen them, but I wouldn't try them with my birds. Too easy to destroy like your friend said.
Perhaps you can do some reinforcement on the carrier?

I think the theory is OK but not the practical - we'll see. It definately needs work. Reinforcement for sure.
