buying from ebay?  Reply with quote

Has anyone ever bought a parrot cage from ebay? I visited the site today--great deals! Is this a good idea? The only problem is I have NO idea how the whole ebay thing works! Any experience here? Question

Well, don't ask me but I seemed to have managed to order some from ebay. I am also trying to contact a lady to ask if my payment has arrived. She hasn't replied, not after several emails?

Ebay is a great place to buy stuff. I personally hasn't gotten bird cage from there, but have gotten some other stuff, and it works out great and cheaper too.

A friend of mine ordered a cage, and toy parts in bulk from ebay and she was very happy with them. I was in the process of getting a stainless steele cage from e-bay, but the seller never e-mailed me back Mad

I bought both of my cages from ebay (australia) and I found it great and much much cheaper......big tips are check out the rating of the person you are buying off....if they have any negative feedback stay away from them....I personally find buy from someone in you own state / city easier (1 the cost of postage..2 the option to pick up..3..if somthing does happen you know where these people are) and make sure you read all the sellers terms ect before you bid......also check out the measurements of the cage so you know exactly what you are getting (I often go out to pet stores and try to find the cage just so I know what it looks like in the flesh) but Knock wood I have never had a problem I also order most of my toys ect from ebay at GREAT prices....so have a go and good luck

I recently bought my powder coated cage from Ebay. Good deal and good product! I agree about checking the seller's feedback. And if your not sure about something ask BEFORE bidding! I always like to ask a question just to see how the seller responds. This way if they take a long time to answer, or never answer, I can skip bidding. I don't want to deal with people who won't answer emails. Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I may have found a nice large cage at a friend's that she will be selling...if that doesn't work out I'll definitely check with ebay!

not to be on the paranoid side or anything, but make sure that you clean the cage up real good before you put your bird in it. make sure that it's disinfected because you never know what disease it may carry from the other bird that was in it. just a prcautionary that's all. Cheers. i'm sure your friend would tell you if the bird was sick or not, but then, it's always good to be safe than sorry.

Oh yeah, I difinitely agree with Bih! Even if you know a healthy bird was in it before, be sure to clean it real good!
