| Cage suitability for Senegal parrots |
|
|
Hello, I was wondering if you could advise on the suitability of the following for a pair (non breeding) of senegal parrots.
The cage dimensions are 36" x 24" x 69" (internal) with 1" bar spacing. I have heard from a number of sources that 1" is too much for a senegal , but from others I have heard that it would be absoloutely fine? The only large cages I can find have 1" bar spacing! |

Boy, that's the trouble with finding larger cages, they usually have larger bar spacing for larger birds.
I don't know ... the spacing of my sennies cage is 3/4 in. I have put her in my macaws old outdoor cage & she gets right out between the bars, but the spacing is 1 1/4 inch. So I really don't know what to tell you. As I recall, I have read sites that say 3/4 in is recommended, but 1 in might work. |

I think I'm having trouble here with your system.. I'm using the metric system (not inches) so this is kind of hard for me.
But, if I'm correct, Zazu is in a cage with 1 inch barspace. Iago does well in it. But he has a big head! |

And I think Jennie is kind of the small size for a senegal, & she's only 7 months old now. |
