I decided to go ahead and add a picture. The quality of the picture is not the best, but you can at least see the basic style of the cage.
http://img.photobucket.com/alb.....a/cage.jpg
The feeder doors are unfortunately the "guillotine" (spell?) type that slide up and down. If I get this cage I will invest in some good quality, strong, clips to keep the doors from being pulled open by my bird. That seems to be the only bad thing. The bottom grate and pan slide out, the door is nice and large, bar spacing is 1/2 inch, and it is nice and large. (32x20x36 inches) It is available in colors othe than the white pictured. I think I will get silver or the black, there is also dark green.
Please let me know what you think about this cage. And let me know if the feeder doors are ok as long as good clips are used to keep them shut.
Thanks!

It sounds like a good deal to me Wys, but I'd love to see a photo of it, if you can get one. I'm seriously thinking of getting an LB myself. In fact, I'm waiting for a call back from a breeder. But I will also need to get a cage. |

Good thinking wystearya ,luckily l have/sell cages that are "bolt locked so to speak" so they can't slide them up and down. You need to open the hatches lifting up,slide left then down again for access into the cage and feeding boxes.Good to see you have thought of these things for it's something many people don't think about when there bird escapes and is gone?well done |

That's a very good looking cage! Too bad about the guillotine doors, but as you said, some good clips will take care of that.
Did you get that somewhere on line! And that's the one that costs $130? And that's with the stand? I think that's a great deal! |

Hey Wys,
That's a GREAT looking cage!! your little one will be so very comfy in it for sure. And what a great deal too... You've done a great job researching for cages and stuff for your baby.
Greg, speaking of dead bolt latches... I thought the latches on Apollo's day cage were a little too complicated for him to escape.. yeah right... I was soooooooo wrong... it takes him something like 10 seconds to unlock to door latches (2 of them) and another 2 seconds for him to be sitting on top of his cage squawking proudly to let me know that he's escaped again!! and his food door... well let's not even go there! takes him even less time to unlatch those! so now I have five pad locks all over the cage to keep him in the cage when I'm not home!! those guys are just way too smart for me!! |

Great, I'm glad everyone thinks this cage is nice too. I will be getting some clips to hold the feeder doors for sure. I just ordered it in silver! I'll take better pictures when it arrives.

Thank You. I did find this online, on Ebay. The stand is included in the price. Free shipping is only for the 48 continental US states, but that covers me at least. I thought this was a really good deal myself. The seller also has larger and smaller cages at really good prices. I will get their Ebay ID and post it if anyone wants it.

I think we are thinking of different latches for the latches on my cages require more than a beak to open??? anyway l have never had a problem.. for Mylo would other wise be gone by now seeing he can make a knot around a branch, out of a rope hanging down his cage Every time i have it hanging l come back from work and there it is a knot or weave on the bars..he..he |

Hey Greg... We may be talking about different type of latches, but here's a pic of Apollo's cage to show you the kind that he DOES know how to open.... The following pic were taken on the day that we got the cage assembled... that's why there's hardly any toys in it. I'll have take a few new ones of his current arrangement!!
Apollo's cage
Here's a closer shot of the latch itself... Apollo can literally open that in 2 seconds if he really wants to... then he'll either climb up or down (pending on where he is to start off with, and he'll be out of the cage by the next ten seconds!
Cage latch in the 'open' position
May be one day i can get a video shot of him escaping his cage. he's not shy about it either.. he'll gladly perform for the camera too!! LOL |

I got my cage today! I don't have pictures yet, but it is all put together. It's nice and sturdy and the powder coat is nice and thick. I'm very happy with it. My plastic pan was broken, but they are sending me a new one. I wouldn't recommend this cage for a bird larger than a Lovebird. Many of the bars are skinny and could possibly be bent by a stronger bird. I'll have pictures soon so you can all see my cage. Now if only I can get my bird... LOL!

I really like it so far. The pan and grate slide out easily, and the large door is nice. Actually, the latch on the door is exactly like the second picture Cheeta posted of Apollo's cage.
Anyway, pictures tomorrow hopefully. As long as my camera will work with me. he he!

| PICTURES!!! |

I now have some pictures of my new cage.

The picture with the pencil is to try and show bar spacing as well as bar thickness. The cage came with two platforms, and I have one set up in it. That is the picture with the baby keys. I was trying to show the platform. I thought that would be a good rest for the feet. In the bottom corner of the same picture you can see the broken tray. But I'll have a replacement soon. The last picture shows the lock. I think it is just like the one Cheeta has on Apollo's cage.

Shows a swing a made. Inspired from the Fluffies make your own toys tutorial. Thank You for the great idea! Although, wrapping the hemp gets tiresome. LOL!
So, what does everyone think? I think that this is a good cage, especially for the money. I still only see the feeder doors as a negative. But that will be fixed with some clips.

oh I love the cage! It looks so big! My lovebirds would love that! How much was it again? Nice job on the toy, it looks like ones you'd buy at a store Your lovebird is going to be one lucky and spoiled little bird |
