I use manzanita so Manu doesn't chew it into millions of bits! |

Does anyone know if it is safe to use grape vine branches as a perch?

Yes it's safe, because I saw it listed in an article about perches in Bird Talk Magazine |

I would only put a cautionary note on the grapevines - they must not have ever (some say it's ok after many years) been treated with any chemical pesticides or anything like that. If they are totally untreated, perfectly safe! |

I just use anything that I can find that is native. The more unusual shaped the better. It encourages climbing. I also try to find ones that they can tear the bark off. |
