| I think I ruined my playstand.....lol |
|
|
So I've mentioned before how Sera is afraid of natural wood (like manzanita perches and similar stuff).
Well, I'm not sure if it's the wood, or just the dark brown color in general.
I got this great playstand off of Ebay a while back. It's made with PVC pipe (like the one we built for her, but smaller so it can go in the office). It was like 50 bucks with shipping so I bought it.
The seller told me to take vet wrap and wrap it around the perches. For those who don't know, vet wrap is a bandage wrap that doesn't stick to the skin, rather it sticks to itself.
Well, vet wrap is expensive.....so I went to the drug store and bought the regular brown wrap that you use on people. Now Sera is TERRIFIED of the gym!!! She won't go on it at all and flies away from it if we walk near it.. Uri, on the other hand, loves it. I thought that with her seeing Uri on it, she'd like to go and try it, but nooooooooo.
Goofy bird.......goofy owner! Can't believe I didn't think about it. |

She'll get sick of watching him play on it shortly and curisoty will win her over. She's too much of a 'too to let anything get to her! lol
It's a nice grippy for them.......so I like it. Plus it's easier to work with then sisal (which you have to glue down). This you don't. It just sticks to itself nice a squishy.
She's watching him, green with envy, that he's playing with all these cool toys on the stand. She'll venture there by tonight, I'm guessing! |

Hahaha that's funny to hear, those toos!
Let her watch Uri, let her be jealous. Soon she'll overcome her fear and sit there too!
If she's afraid, don't comfort her: Chances are you 'approve' her fear. |

Thanks for the tip, Sue. I know not to comfort (having to do the same with dogs, I just assumed to be the same way with Sera).
She loves it now.....I knew it wouldn't take long! lol |
