me too lol. I've tried the string but I didn't have cheerios so I used my parrots medium sized pellets, they have holes in the middle. Even though it was her own food she loved it anyway. |

Hi there,
We have a meyers & a sengal parrot.
Why is it that you spend hundreds of dollars on many toys, and the ones you can make for next to nothing are their favourites???
I recently tied the cardboard from the toilet paper roll, with a piece of sisal rope to their cage......... and they love shredding it & fraying the sisal too! I make sure to use rolls that came out of
my
bathroom, that no one else touched..... i.e. the kids!!!!
I have recently read they love loufah sponge as well. you can slice it, place holes through the center of it & string sisal through it. I haven't tried this yet, but i will this weekend. |

| Loufah sponge! |
|
|
I bought a toy for our parrots at the pet store that had loufah sponge on it....... they were crazy about it!!!!!
So i will make them one with loufah that you can buy at walmart/shoppers.
I will use sisal rope and cut the loufah into 5 or 6 pieces and string it on.
They love ripping it apart!
I have read that you can use food colouring on the sponge to make it attractive.... I will try that too! |
