Yay! I've just recieved the aviator harnesses for Jennie & Manu that I ordered from Hartmans aviary in the mail today! Can't wait to try them out!
Looks like I've got some figuring out to do first tho! |

I will keep you posted
I'm going to have to be very careful introducing it to Jennie
Manu is used to wearing a feather teather kind, but I've never tried one on Jennie before. I'm excited about it! |

When you get it on Jennie, get her out of the house as soon as you can to distract her and to show her what a good time she can have outside...
Manu, I would put it on him as often as I could. Both of our Macaws hate the first part of sliping it over there head... after that there is no problem |

sweet!! I was thinking of getting one for Apollo. Do you think that the aviator will hold out from Apollo's beak chewing?
Keep us posted with how you go with Jennie and Manu and their new harnesses. Love to see pics of the new harnesses of the fids. can't wait to hear how the both go in it. |

Thanks for the advice John! Jennie LOVES being outdoors, even more so than Manu, so yes, it will be a fun distraction for her.
Bih, I've never heard of anyone having problems with their birds chewing thru them. |

Perhaps Jennie is a lot more gentle than Iago. She is a girl after all.. |

We had more trouble with the one that had clips. Misty would play with them and bite them until she figure out how to unclip them.... The Avaitor only has one slip clip and none of your birds brother the harness, providing you put it on right, and get them in an envoriment where they are distructed right away. The only trouble we have had is when Ann gets a twest in one of the straps and she chews on it... She could get throw it if she really wanted to, So could Apollo, but then he would be supervised when ever he had it on...

Thanks Yupra After watching the instructional DVD, I'm afraid Jennie will take quite a bit of work beforeI even attempt to put it on her
Oooooh gosh John, I don't like blood! Especially when it's mine!
Really, it was awesome watching that DVD, Steve Hartman seems like a really awesome guy! And is great with the birds!
Too bad he don't come with the harness rather than the DVD!
I really can't wait to get started tho!
Normally they send an instructional DVD with each harness, but since I ordered 2, they sent 1 of the DVDs & ! "Bird Sitter" DVD & it's pretty cool too! I didn't watch the whole thing, but there were some great looking birds on it! |
