| out door avariys? |

Hi,
Im new to the site and am thinking about getting a pet parrot, or other bird, however I am doing some research into it to make sure I would be a good owner and know how to propely look after my new pet, if it is a parrot which I decide to get.
I wont be able to have a indoor cage as I live in rented accomodation and this would not be possible, however I would be able to have an outdoor aviry, and have found a website in which they make avaries of all different sizes for birds:
http://www.aviaryaccessories.co.uk/home.htm
I was just wondereing which kind of parrots can be kept outdoors, in a Brighton backyard, if indeed they can be kept outside atall!?
If not, does anyone know which birds make good pets for living outside, I would aim to handle it daily and bring it indoors for short periods of time.
Thanks for any help,
Nic, in Brighton |

Hi Nic
Welcome to Fluffies
I'm assuming that you're in UK (from the website you gave), and that it'll usually get quite cold in the winter being snow and all...
I am not familiar with birds in UK, but I do know that they'll need some sort of heating available to them in winter so that they can keep warm. Do you think you'll be able to provide the heating for them? otherwise it'll definitely be too cold for them at night. even during the day it would be too cold when it's snowing. |

It's a bummer that you can't have it indoor, can you not even have a little parakeet inside with you? they don't cause too much mess if you change their tray everyday. and they are small enough to not to have a humongous cage. though still recommend to 18' x 18' cage for the one bird though of course. |
