Shreddable Toys  Reply with quote

Hi Everyone,

Anyone know of a hay that is safe for cockatiels? My bird loves to shred stuff so I thught about stuffing a ball with hay and let her go to town. I'd like your suggestions on other home made shreddable toys.

Thanks

My birds absolutely loves boxes... they'd spend hours chewing on those... Both budgies and cockatoos love them. I've thread papers in between bars for the budgies to chew/shred as well. they love that too... or they love a stack of old news paper sitting on top of their cage.. they chew that to bits too... Very Happy

That's a very good idea! Smile
My birds also love boxes. Please make sure that there aren't any staples in them or other kind of metal. Cool (I don't know what it's like in your country but in the Netherlands, there might be staples in those boxes to hold them together)
They also like small willow branches. (Very thin) If you leave them to dry, they become very 'crispy' which is irresistable or so it seems. Laughing
