| Suitable for playstand? |
|
|
Hi,
As it's coming up for Xmas, I'm looking around for new things for my fids. I belong to the WSPA and in their catalogue I saw a children's play treehouse made from rubberwood and was wondering if this would be an ok new playstand for my Rio (he's a Senegal). I'm posting a link so you can see it but don't know if it will work ...have never posted one before. It says it's safe for kids so I thought it may be parrot friendly too.
I love that it has a little lift, a swing, and ladders up and down to all the different levels. Obviously I would take the people and the leaves out. But I was wondering what people's opinions were? Is there likely to be any problems I haven't thought of? Although it's not expensive, I don't want it to be a waste of money. The only problems I can see is the chewing and the mess (though I could cover the top in linoleum or similar).
Any thoughts would be much appreciated....thanks .

ahh thats soo cute!! My birdies would love it!! It looks ok, and if its child safe it should be parrot safe, but I dont know, Someone else might be able to help you. If I think of anything, I'll be sure to post back.

General speaking Cheekie is right. If it is safe for a child, then it is safe for a parrot, But be careful applying this rule of thumb. Child safe does not always equate to bird safe.
But this toy looks like a great secert santa gift to me..... hint hint... to all the secert santas out there....
I would go for it, it is made of tough natrual ingerants, It will more then likly out last most bird play stands you can buy

Thanks for your replies .
I think I'll have to get it...it's too sweet not to.
I'll probably keep it as an extra stand for when I'm with him ie: when I'm on the computer and he's next to me......then I can stop too much chewing.
He has another metal playstand to use all the other time. Today he was out on it and I got a wicker basket and threaded string through the ends and tied it to each end of the stand, so it was in the middle, like a swinging nest/hammock. I put hay in it and a few foraging foods hidden. He got in it and it rocked back and forth like a fairground ride, and the look on his face was so funny.
Wish I could post pictures but my technology intellect is rubbish . |
