Although I would like to see more (like back, tail), I am almost sure that your Esme is a true parrot, to be complete a meyers parrot. In Latin: Poicephalus meyeri and he belongs to the Poicephalus parrot species.

Mystery solved, I think. Thanks PeCe for pointing me towards the Poicephalus group. I'm 99% sure she's a Poicephalus cryptoxanthus aka a Brown headed parrot. Your links were a great help Smile

Good searching from you Lil. I have checked the cryptoxanthus and I agree, looking at the shape, size of the eyes, the small "white" circle around her eyes she is a brown-headed and not a meyers.

New picture of Esme Very Happy
Good to hear that she likes it with you and is in love with Steve. As always they choose one person they like most.

Nice pictures of Esme, looks like she likes to explore and play. If she learns to play the tunes right she might even make a tv-debut playing the piano. Looks like Esme is learning how to help sowing and cleaning in the kitchen, I hope she won't ask to much money for her work. Is Esme also close to you or is she only that close with Steve. Thanks for sharing these pictures.

I wish you and Esme also all the best for 2009.

Thank you for your reply, PeCe.
Esme is a lot of fun and she is very close to me as well as to Steve. She likes to play and to tear things apart but she is also happy to sit quietly on my knee or shoulder.
