| Hi all......remember me? |
|
|
Well....why am I posting in the Pi section??
Cuz....
WE GOT A BRONZE WING!!!
Oh super excited!!!
He's just beautiful. I'll get some pictures and get a page set up for him.
We are naming him Gonzo (as hubby says he looks like Gonzo from the Muppets! lol). He's just stunning. We just picked him up today and he's amazing. So sweet and so very quiet! Nothing at all like Sera and Uri!! He cracks me up how he's so gentle with everything!
I hope I can get used to his smell, though! |

Hi!! Welcome back!
Congrats on the new addition to your flock!! How exciting!!
We want to hear all about Gonzo and how he's settling in. I can't say I know what a Pi smells like, but boy I smelt a dusky lory the other day, and boy has he got a funky smell or what!!! LOL
Welcome back again girl. Good to see you around. |

I think he stinks! I really can't describe the smell. Kinda musky/sour. Some people say it's sweet, but I have to disagree!! lol
He's such a different bird compared to Sera and Uri! It's wild how quiet and shy he is. |

Awesome! Congratulations on Gonzo! I have to add to this... Adrion, my Bronze Wing who is RIP, had a musty sort of smell too... I also didn't know what people were talking about when they said Pionus are "sweet" smelling
Yes, Pionus are so much different from Cockatoos and Senegals for sure! They are super easy parrots.
I know I said before... the Bronze Winged Pionus is my
FAVORITE
bird species of all time!!!!! For some reason, the color of the mature BWP drives me WILD!! I was debating on getting another one after Adrion passed, but I couldn't resist getting the Eclectus and Corella instead I wanted something larger. Now I don't have any more time and space for any more birds, but the BWP will always be in my heart! |

Well, you can be Auntie to little Gonzo, okay?
He's just stunning. Jeremy has some amazing pictures of him and I can't wait to download them. He just bought a $1500 camera (so it better take good pictures!) and we are using it like mad! |

I was wondering how long it would take you to see this. I was getting ready to send up a flare!
Oh I think this little guy STINKS! He sure does crack me up, though.
I can't download pictures to the site yet as they are too large and no matter how I resize them, the file is still too big. The picture quality is very good as it's a very expensive camera (brand new Canon EOS 40 D).
But here is a link to a few of them!

Prehaps BW have a different smell to White Cap's???
Anyway I love Pi's smell...
AWWWW I am a little sad cos I am off to Spain tomorrow and Pi has gone to her Holiday home - just the other side of town... I sure miss her - she has only been gone a couple of hours
Pip (the greyhound) has also gone to her Holiday home so it is real quiet here at the moment...
So dont worry if I am not online - you will Know why
See yall soon

About the Pi smell.... all I can say is that I agree that like Gonzo, my late Adrion who was also a BW, had a musty/sour odor, not the sweet one I'd always heard about.
I hope you have a good vacation Fi!! I used to live with someone who had Greyhounds... |
