Fiona. I thought of you when I received my October edition of Birdtalk. The cover, centre fold and feature article is on the PIONUS!!! If it is available in the UK, you should pick up a copy.

Hi Kellyanne,

Thanks for the info - I have tried to see if I can get BirdTalk delivered to me - but I am unable to as all the places that I have looked at on the net
only deliver within the States... Crying or Very sad

Lynze

Hi cannot wait to hear your stories of your White Cap when he/she comes home.

You could always get someone to get you a copy of that issue with the pionus 'centerfold' and send it to you.. Smile You can always ask Dana since she already has your address already. That way you don't have to give it out again. Very Happy

If I still had a Pi, I'd definitely be posting here! Very Happy I know this is an OLD topic, but I had to reply Wink If you look at my homepage, you will see I had a beautiful Bronze Winged girl named Adrion. They are my absolute favorite Pi species, and definitely one of my favorite parrot species! Bronze Winged are not seen very often here in US. I would love to get another one someday, but probaby won't be able to since I will already have enough to take care of (after one more next summer).

It sounds like Pi's are not too common in Europe? They are not the MOST common here, but definitely not rare. The popular ones here are Blue Headed, Maximillian, and White Cap.

I looked at your bronze wing.. She was a beauty. They're rare as pets over here. You don't see them a lot.

Thanks Lynzi!
I think some species are regionally popular or uncommon depending on where you are in the US. I think it differs a bit from state to state... but some species seem to be either rare or popular all over the world!
