What do you guys think about adopting a bird?

I adopted my macaw when he was a year old, but I've never thought of it as a rescue.
I think it's a great idea & that bird sounds like a good bird, but you'd have to check it out of course. 5 years old isn't very old. I wonder why the care giver is giving it up? |
