Those of you who feed Harrison's to your sennie do you use the regular or high potency? I think I remember Fluffy Sue you saying you used the high potency? I need to order more soon and wondered which I should get? I used to use high potency for Smokey (CAG) so maybe I should go back to that? They don't eat a lot of the pellets. They mainly eat fresh foods, but I do supplement with the pellets.

Hi Robin.
Yeah, I give Iago high potency coarse.. At least the first 6 months they should get this. (When they're converted onto Harrison)
And Sennies seem to need more energy?
My vet recommended this to me. And Iago isn't too fat or too thin.
As a supplement: I'd go for high potency coarse. |

Okay, thanks Sue. I'll get the high potency. Because Pickles definitely needs more energy. |

I feed Pepper zupreem fruit flavored pellets. She was raised on it. I also give her fresh foods to eat also. She just tried fresh green beans that I bought at the store for her. I am so happy that she ate them.
Do you think zupreem is a good product to feed birds? |

Zupreem fruit flavor is what Pickles (and my grey) eat best. But I am concerned that it contains sucrose and coloring. So, like someone had suggested somewhere else I tried tasting all the pellets I had on hand. Zupreem does taste better as it really is a little sweet. But I do believe Harrison's is a better food and would prefer they eat that. For now, they're getting both. I guess is kinda like comparing Fruit Loops and Cheerios.

I guess I'll get some Harrisons pellets and try them with Pepper. Where do I get them from. I never heard of that brand before. |

I have heard that Harrisons is the best quality pellet.
Hubby will not buy Harrisons tho, due to the price. I feed all of my fids Zupreem natural pellets, Manu gets the natural (I believe it's called "maintenance?") mixed with a little bit of fruit flavor pellets, but I'm slowly trying to ween him off the fruit flavored ones. |

Here is the website where you can order direct.

I've also ordered them through The Perch.

Cathy, Roudybush is another good option and not quite as pricey as Harrisons. But so far my guys won't eat it. I did have another grey in the past that loved it though. He preferred it over Harrisons.

As for the Zupreem I would prefer the natural over the fruit but my stinkers will only eat the fruit ones.

I've also tried roudybush & didn't have a whole lot of luck with Manu eating it, tho I haven't tried any since Jennies been here. Maybe next time I need some food, I'll pick some up & see if she likes it . |

My vet also recommanded Harrison high potency coarse for my 8 month old sennie Bo Bo. She's on Zupreem fruit blend right now too. Though it tastes better I'm also concerned with the food coloring and have bought some Harrison, hoping Bo Bo can convert to it. |

echang, let me know how BoBo likes the natural Zupreem over the fruit flavored ones. I haven't bought the natural zupreem for Pepper yet but I plan to. She's pretty stocked up on variety of foods for now. |

hi Sentiels3, I didn't buy ZuPreem Natural, I switched Bo Bo from Exact Original(Daily Maintenance, no coloring) right to the ZuPreem Fruit Blend because she started breaking her tail feathers during her molt(now she only has 2 left ...), and I wasn't sure if it's caused by malnutrition. My sisters birds are all very very healthy eating ZuPreem Fruit Blend so I thought I should give Bo Bo the same thing. I also brought Bo Bo to a vet visit for the broken tail feather problem. The vet recommanded Harrison's High Potency Coarse and Nekton BIO(promotes feather growth) vitamin supplement for Bo Bo. Hopefully she'll like Harrison's. My vet's cockatiel lived 25 years, I bet it's because of Harrison's |

I had no problem switching Pickles from the Zupreem Fruit to Harrison's High potency. He took to them right away. But he likes the big ones that he can hold as opposed to the "fine" size. I had tried Zupreem natural and neither Pickles or Smokey would touch them. |
