Merlin wanted me to post his new pictures of him in his "motel room". I am going home to look after my parents buisness while they are on vacation, so Merlin has to come with me and the cat to stay at my parents house (his old house) in the car. He gets the cats old carrier to travel in, and he will probably have to spend a few nights in here while we are home, though my plan is just to leave him on his gym 24/7 if he will behave long enough LOL I figured he better have some time to get used to the kennel before we chucked him in and put it in the car so he is enjoying some play time with toys and peanuts in there before bedtime. He thinks it pretty cool! Its a really big kennel, so he has tons of room to play! Of course all the toys will be taken out before we go in the car so nothing rolls around. I'll leave him his rope to chew on though!

That's a 5 star Motel room! He's so lucky! How far away is your folks house? And just wondering if they've seen Merlin since he went to live with you?
That cat carrier is quite a bit bigger than mine! You did excellent fixing it up for him to travel in! |

Its about a 1 1/2 -2 hour drive back to my parents house. They've been to visit several times since Merlin moved here and they are just amazed by his progress. My step-dads last words before Merlin left home was "I sure wouldn't trust that bird out of his cage, you better be careful with him!". tee hee, I had him out of the cage within 20 minuites of being home I think! and he has spent most of his time out since then. A good wing clip and some room to roam was all he needed! He still isn't a very friendly bird, and maybe never will be, but he is HAPPY and tha is what matters. If he comes around in time all th better. I'm not pushing him though.
I can hear him in the other room cracking a nut and eating a piece of my bananna bread, so I know he is exploring out there! |

Oh, it's very obvious what a happy bird he is & you've done so good by him! It's also very obvious how much he means to you!
Have a safe & fun trip both of you |
