can anyone's sennie do any tricks? I'm training cheekie. He taught himself to wave! he can kiss and shake hands and do "BatBird" (flapping). Everytime I come home, he waves and says "Cheekybird!" |

Your little Senegal sounds like a real character, do you have a video of him it would be really good to see it. |

oh I wish I had a digital camera! I'm getting one (hopefully) soon. I'm not sure about one that takes movies, my aunt has one and she doeasn't like it much, she can only take 6 seconds of movie. I can take pictures with my regular one and scan them, but that takes a long time. I want a digital one before I get the green cheek, so I can take pics of him/her on its first day home. |

He taught himself?! So one day, you came home and he just waved? That's what happened with Iago. I didn't teach him to wave, he decided that he should greet me with the wave and a 'Hi'
Please please make movies of this!
Can you get your hands on a webcam? They're fairly inexpensive.. |

Well, Pickles doesn't know any tricks yet, but he is telepathic! He knows when I'm eating something even if I go in another room or around the corner.

Hi Cheeky Birdie, it didn't register at first that you have a Sennie named Cheeky, I also named my first Sennie Cheeky, full name Cheeky Beaky, I've had to leave him with my daughter but I think after I've been on holiday in September he'll be coming here to live with Tim and Mischief as he's not getting as much out of cage exercise as I'd like him to have. I will have him wing clipped as he is very naughty and bites very hard and we will have to do a lot of training with him. My other Sennie Tim won't be happy when he comes here as they are both male and I won't be able to let them out together. |

Hi Julie White, I didn't name him Cheekie, his previous owners did, and his full one is "Cheekie Kon-Tiki" (I added the Kon-Tiki part.)
Cheekie also likes to play w/ his bell. This isn't really a trick but he likes to hang by his beak from his bell and swing, it is cute to see his little body dangleing.
Ill see if I can get a webcam. You won't see me on it, just my birds, because I don't want to give away to much personal information.
Sue- Yes he did! It took me a while to find out that raising his foot was a wave. I thought it was a "Step up", but his foot was too high up for that! HE was almost saluting!
This is not about my sennie but fig taught herself tricks. She can dance, kiss, and "Skin the cat" (she puts her head between her legs). None off my birds do these on command, except for cheekie shaking hands and Bat Bird. |

My little Sennie Tim also likes to play with bells, he has a couple of them which he untied from his toys, he has a fascination with knots. In the mornings he runs around the bottom of the cage throwing the bells about and if I re-tie them to the toys he unties them again. The bells are strongly made so that the ringer can't come off and they can withstand his strong little Sennie beak. Aren't they funny when they play, my little Hahns Mischief can shake hands and it took just 5 minutes to teach her, maybe I'll try and teach her to wave, I don't think it will be easy to teach Tim because he was wild caught rescued and although he's very affectionate he only likes minimal handling also I think he may be quite old as his feet are dark grey and very scaly. My Cheeky is 7 and his feet are very pink still. |

my sennie sweetpepper can undo knots really well. she also can take the clappers out of the bells. I got a couple bigger bells that she hasn't broken yet.
I'm going to try and start teaching pepper some tricks soon. she has raised her foot a couple times and I tried getting her to do it again. she likes to invent her own games or tricks. |
