sexing my sennie  Reply with quote

there are two ways I know of to sex a sennie, so I checked both on cheekie and in one he's a male and in another he's female Confused . A sennie breeder said he's male, as did the shelter owner but my old vet (they didn't do tests) said he's female. His undertail covert is pure yellow but the V runs down to his vent

May I ask how old Cheekie is? Perhaps he should have time to get his adult colors. Smile

Oops, I see now above you said he hadn't been tested Embarassed
I certainly wouldn't trust my judgement, but if I HAD to guess, for some reason I would say Cheekie is girl Very Happy

Smile at least cheekie has a unisex name Laughing Laughing
at 16yrs you really don't need to get him sexed unless you do want to breed him. but it is always nice to know if you have a little boy or girl Smile

Smile I agree with Fluffy, I do beleive with all the yellow vent feathers that cheekie is a male. Wink
