talking sennies  Reply with quote

Hi all,

curious as to what age your Sennies said there first words. I am repeating, talking in context ect. Any other tips. Obi and Kip are only 3 months old but are turning into clever little Birdies.I know to keep my expectations low but I can't help hoping they will say or mimic a few things.

I wouldn't repeat words, else they won't learn to use their words in a proper context. Wink But it's up to you. I don't remember when Iago learned to talk..

Saying things in a very excited tone, a lot of times causes them to learn it. It really depends on the bird though. Eclectus are known to be one of the top talking species, and my Ekkie Gryffin learned Good Girl when I took her into a new shower for the first time and I exclaimed it very excitedly... she started saying it that day. Also when I said "Owww!" when I took something hot out of the oven she repeated it.
