Great to hear that Tim has been a gentlemen!
Please don't feel mean about the banana.. It is wonderful to use that as clicker training reward!
It's about 28 degrees over here.. Very hot! And also very humid! |

Julie what are chopped up monkey nuts? I want to start with clicker training with Pepper, but she really doesn't have anything as a favorite treat food. I guess I could try peanut butter or crack some sunflower seeds to see if she will use as treats.
You are doing great with Tim Sounds like you have a wonderful relationship with him. Keep us informed of his great progress. |

Hi Sue and Sentiels, Monkey Nuts are peanuts in their shells, if I was going to use them I would only use ones from the supermarket for human comsumption as I was reading that there could be a risk of mould developing on the ones for animal consumption, and the temperature here in the UK today is 34 and getting hotter, there are predictions that it could reach the low 40s by the end of the week so I'll be misting Tim and Mischief frequently with a plant sprayer and giving the dog a cold bath daily I think. Just think here in the UK we used to go abroad to get the sun. I'm going to Tenerife in September to cool off. |

Hi Julie, so basicly monkey nuts are just peanuts in their shells. we buy them at the store to feed the squirrels and birds outside. we save some for out fids too. I watched the british open golf game on TV this weekend with Tiger Woods and they said you are having a long heat wave. it runs in the 80's-90's here right now. did hit 100 one day last week. I'm glad there is air conditioning and my brother has a swimming pool to use. I hope the weather improves for you soon. has it rained at all there? we are hit and miss with the rain |

Hi Sentiels, I think Tiger Woods was feeling the heat. I think 40 degrees celcius is 104 degrees farenheit. It rained last night but it just made it more humid. Wish I had a swimming pool and most people here don't have air conditioning because we're not used to these conditions. I have a big electric fan on the go all the time. As the windows have to be open most of the time my fids can't spend so much time out of their cages as Tim isn't wing clipped. I didn't have the heart to do it after he learned to fly again but I do get them out for a few hours in the evening. They don't seem to want to be so active in the heat anyway. I think there might be thunder storms on the way as my dog nervy at the moment and she's terrified of storms so I have to give her tranquilizers if it's stormy. |
