to lie or not to lie  Reply with quote

Hi all! (why is this part of the forum so quiet nowadays...?? Confused ) I got to ask you something: my sennie does a funny thing - when he's really happy and sitting around on my lap, playing with my fingers, he lets his wings hang sort of "loose" at the sides of his body (I mean, instead of having them on his back as usual).. don't know if you can picture this.. and then he continuously makes baby noises while "dancing" up and down. Weird, but oh so qute!! Heart
Was wondering if any of your sennies does the same thing? Is it a baby thing, since he cannot talk yet and wants to let my know he's happy? Or what??

Another thing: he totally hates it if I put him down on his back. I heard that this is a common thing for sennies - is that true? I want to let him know that it's okay to lie on his back and play with me, so every now and again I hold him on his back in my hand, but only for a few seconds, because he gets very agitated.. Shocked Should I stop doing this?

Thanks a lot!! Very Happy

this behaving with his wings and crying is just begging for food, cuddles etc. typical baby behaviour. he is calling you attention so it is very normal.
they do lay on their back but maybe you should give him some more time. he still sounds as if he is very young and they need to be a bit older to start trying things out.
maybe you could practise laying on his back if you let him hold something in his claws like a pencill or a toy and then lay him on his back a moment. like that his doesn't feel like he is falling. he can hold on to something. but take it slow.

your sennie is trying to mate with you
it's funny I know But it;s true my sennie does the same thing don't let your sennie do it though cause it just teases it Embarassed so when it starts tell it no and put back into cage or stand the back thing is a trust issue my sennie always lays on his back for my husband so give it some time it's a trust thing let him/her mature a bit more and grow more trust in you before you know it he/she will always be on their back hope this helps u
