Hello, I currently have 2 G2's, a 20 y/o male and a 5 y/o female. Anyways, have been thinking of a third bird, something other than a cockatoo...although they are my fav!!
Long story short, I am friends with someone that rescues and a couple that I have thought about, that she recommened were a Grey and now a Senegal. I've been around a Senegal before, and have asked questions on another board, but was wondering what you experts have to say!!
Thanks!

Yeah Cheeta! I'm sure he would welcome that! I don't know. There are so many birds that need homes over here. I'm just trying to find the right one for me...I mean us. hehehehe Obviously, the bird and I would need to bond...it's not like I'm going to say...you have a grey? I want it. You know what I mean? Plus, these older birds deserve a forever home. I can't imagine. Like the senegal. I'm SO BAD!
Yes...I would love to know more about senegals. Iago is very very cute! |

Iago is not really that active..
He's very easy going, loves to meet other people..
He is somewhat territorial around his food bowl as you probably read..
He talks pretty well, and uses his words appropriately.. He does have humor!
What would you like to know of Iago? |

Sorry it's taken me awhile to respond! Busy weekend!!
How are they, in general around other birds. Like Daisy and I have a pretty strong bond....This bird would be 9...I don't even know about their life expectency. Iago seems to get along good with everything and everyone!
Would your recommend getting a senegal to someone that has 2 cockatoos? |

LOL! Don't mind it.. A board should be fun, not an obligation!
Iago is very friendly to Flit.. Flit is a lovebird by the way. They live in the same cage, but need to be seperated as Iago likes Flit a little too much. (Sexually)
He doesn't like Zazu, as Zazu will bully him.. Though, Iago won't fly off when he's bullied: I think it's dangerous, as Iago might get hurt!
According to my vet, Senegals can reach the age of 40 or even 50 with a balanced diet..
About your last question: It depends on what you expect.. Do you expect that the Senegal will get along with your toos? Please don't then..
I don't know why you're asking the last question? (I don't want to sound rude, if I do, sorry!) |

Hey there Tonya,
Have you come to closer decision on a third bird yet? I do understand that you have to bond with the bird first and see you goes and stuff... but Just wondering if you've made up your mind if you wanna give senegals a go? A forever trial??? LOL. |

LOL! Sue...no, you aren't rude. I don't even know what I meant?! Oh well, I have read enough about Iago to know about Senegals!
Cheeta...unsure. I spoke to my friend today and she doesn't have the bird yet. We'll see. Everything happens for a reason...and so, we will just wait and see which feather friend picks us out. |
